“Mallory Lewis and Lamb Chop are a true class act. They appeal to both the young and old. Once you’ve seen one of Mallory’s shows you’ll walk away with a wonderful memory and also feeling like you have just acquired a new best friend."
- Tonya Cook, Special Events Director, Iowa State Fair

Gwynne - via Email:

"This is a recommendation for "The Mallory Lewis and Lamb Chop Show" for those who may be thinking of having her come to your event. I am the Stage Manager for the Fun Forest Stage at the Iowa State Fair and we had Mallory and Lamb Chop for our 11 day event this past August. I have worked with many artists in my 32 years at the Iowa State Fair and Mallory is one of the best! She is professional, prompt and inventive! When the rain came....she adjusted, when the heat came...she adjusted, she always put the audience first!

Mallory comes ready to perform with just a quick sound check and some easy instructions. She is always ready and waiting for her show to begin and is willing to talk and take pictures with audience members afterwards. She was so sensitive to all of the people who grew up watching Lamb Chop and is careful with their memories. One of the great things about her performance is that she is so reachable. People feel like they know her when she is done, and that she is so happy to meet everyone!

Mallory is a great performer, a wonderful person, and a stellar entertainer! I could not recommend her more highly! Over 20,000 people attended her shows during the 2010 Iowa State Fair! She drew consistant full house audiences and appealed to both young and old alike! Lambchop has never looked so good! "

"I was surfing the net and was checking on hollywood obits and ran across your mother's. I loved your mom so much. Watched her shows when I was a kid and she was a genius and a beautiful and talented woman. I'm sure you miss her dearly. Just wanted to say that and say your mom would be very proud of you. Thank you for continue her work."

Dan - via Facebook:

"I was a fan of Lamb Chop when I was a kid, and I just got finished reading the whole story about your mom and I read about you, too. I strongly approve of your keeping Lamb Chop alive, I think that's amazing. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors!"

Kelsey- via Facebook:

"It was great dancing on stage with you today! ps - my mom wanted me to tell you that I slept with a Lamb Chop doll when I was little :)."

Sarah - via Facebook:

"Hi! I was one of the girls that you invited onstage today, and I wanted to tell you that we had SUCH a great time! We're still reeling from the experience, lol. Hope you're enjoying the Fair!!!."

Angela - via Facebook:

"I can't believe I got to share the stage with Lamb Chop and her lovely assistant!"

Maggie - via Facebook:

"Today was great! Thanks for the dance."

Pierre - "Thanks from Iowa!" via email:

"That was so great to see that Lamb Chops was still out there busting her (?) chops and you are such a great support for her. lol I was so happy to see the face match the legend and the voice was right there. Memories of your mother with Mark Wilson and with many, many others and that whole age of wonder brought me "back in the day" of magic on the drive home to Cedar Rapids and forward also to this web site and seen that you and I were both born in 1963, it's so the best year!, for a bunch of my crazy ideas, that happened, anyway, I am the guy in the Angel baseball stuff with the goat looking whiskers (Klingon /Chi) and great wife (my support ) lol. But thank you so much and Dom DeLuise was a great person for encouraging you to pursue the legend. I wonder what madam is doing now that Waylon is gone, humm, do I dare Google?...I'll take a peak, but your mom was much more to me, not scary or odd just a pleasant person ; ) Thank you again Mally for fond memories and youth and may God Bless all of your family and grant you many years!"

"Your Mom would be so proud, thanks for coming to Wisconsin!"

"Great seeing you at the Ohio State Fair. I was so influenced by Lamb Chop as a kid and still love puppetry as an adult; and now my kids love when I do it too. Attached is the photo of us. Thanks for posing with me for it."

"Thanks so much for adding me i just wanted to let you know how much i loved watching your mother when i was growing up in the 60s. She was one of my favorite tv stars. How sad i was when she passed in 1998, what a wonderful legacy she has left, I am glad that you are carrying it on God Bless"

Bill - Remember Shari Lewis and Lambchop? - via email

"A lot of us grew up watching that very famous act.

The late Ms. Lewis' daughter -- Mallory -- has assumed
responsibility for the act, and is every bit as sweet and
child-friendly as her late Mom. I've seen a performance.
And "Lambchop" still retains that famous Brooklyn accent
after all these years. Nice little Jewish lamb! ;-)

Well, I didn't "know" this until I accidentally tripped over
the fact on a website. Then I found "her" website, and
sent her (what I hoped was) a nice note. I'm the only
idiot who would dare do such a ridiculous thing, as you
all well know.

And would you believe this: SHE CALLED MY
CELL PHONE NUMBER!!!  Just 20 minutes ago!
She wanted to know what my "e-mail signature"
was all about. So I told her. And, imagine ... she
didn't hang up on me!

But ... what a sweet, classy lady she is --- just
like her late Mom was to all us baby-boomer-types.
Like her own Mom, she is a wife and mother.

That makes another "friend" I have in Holly-weird,
now!   So ... if she needs a new "dummy", maybe
... I'll get the job!  Charlie McCarthy----step aside!"

"Please bring Mallory & Lambchop back for the 2011 Ohio State fair & every year after that. We all really love them."

Terri - via email

"I just wanted to tell you that my family and I really enjoyed your show at the Wisconsin State Fair. We were there Opening Day (Aug. 5). I have loved Lambchop since I was a kid. My sisters and I had a record of your Mom and Lambchop. I can't remember the name of it, but I do remember some of the stories on it. One of them was when Lambchop was learning which was her right and left hand with the story of Noah saying "how do you do" to the animals coming on the Ark. That was one of my favorite records. (you know I am old when I am referring to records and not cd's. ha-ha) I was a bit older when Lambchops Playalong came on t.v, but that did not stop me from watching it! Now my nephews like Lambchop. It is so cool to have them interested in things I know about and like too. Lambchop, Hush Puppy and Charley Horse are multi generational!! I am sure your Mom is very proud and happy that you are keeping Lambchop and her friends alive! I hope you had a nice time in Milwaukee and had a good time at the Wisconsin State Fair. (you lucked out with the weather, after you left, it got really hot here!!) Anyway, I am sure I bored you long enough. Hope to see you next year at the State Fair! Or anywhere in Milwaukee."

Kathryn - via email

"Hello! My name is Katie. I saw you at the Ohio State Fair today--I'm the girl with the big blue eyes who sang with you (haha)! I really wanted to send you an e-mail to thank you for today.

I watched your mother's show when I was younger, and it played a crucial role in my childhood. "The Song That Doesn't End" was my favorite song until I was three years old, and it was the only thing that would calm me down when I was a baby. That show encouraged me to expand and explore my imagination, and, no matter what, it was there for me when I wanted to know I had friends in the world. It was my biggest dream to have lots and lots of friends, and to me, Lamb Chop, Charlie Horse, Hush Puppy, and your mother were some of my best friends. I always wanted to be one of the "friends" on the show, but that never happened, and when I finally realized that it no longer could, I thought it was a lost dream. Today was so important to me--I finally accomplished what I dreamed about for so long. I wasn't able to stay and watch for long, because my group had to leave, but I still got to see the character I loved so much as a child. As soon as I heard Lamb Chop's voice, I started crying! (Your voice--just your speaking voice, but also your character voices--sound amazingly like your mom's. It was rather shocking. In addition, you look like her. As soon as I saw you, I felt comforted.)

Thank you so, so, so much for today. I was bawling from the moment I walked off the stage, and I didn't stop until I was out of the park--I was happy. (I had to call my mom right away and cry to her about how happy I was, haha.)

Thank you so much for continuing what your mom started. People like me, who grew up admiring and loving the characters and world your mother created, really owe a lot to you. I never thought this would be possible, and I am so, so, so very happy that is was.

I'm starting college in the fall, and I'm going to study visual art, the Japanese language, and music. It's my current dream to be a singer in Japan (I signed a contract recently, but have a very long way to go before anything comes of it), and I want to cater to young children, because they are what is most important to me. I want to educate, comfort, and inspire children just the way your mother did: through creativity, silliness, and imagination. Getting to sing and dance on that little stage with you and all those children today was a definitely a big moment for me; it made me remember that going to college and starting my adult life does not mean that I ever have to lose the child in me, nor do I have to "grow up" (is there even such a thing?). This was... amazing. It was exactly what I needed in this... confusing, overwhelming period of my life (haha).

Thank you so much! I hope I can see you again!

Love, Kathryn

P.S.: If you read all of this, I'm really very honored. I tend to ramble, especially when I'm happy, admiring, grateful, etc.
P.P.S.: I still listen to my Lamb Chop's Play-Along CD all the time. P.P.P.S.: Thank you so much."

"My family would like to thank you for bring the voice of Lamb Chop to our city of Milwaukee. You brought a smile to my daughters face and to mine. I could close my eyes and literally hear your mother voice come alive. You added your voice to hers and made these characters your own. Your mother would be very proud of you. I watched your mother as I grew then I watched your mother with my daughter as she grew up. What a treat to see and hear your voice, humor and charm. We look forward to seeing you next year at our Wisconsin State Fair. Thank you so much Duane."

Enjoy your time when you get home as I'm sure you've earned it. Thank you again for continuing your mothers and lamb chops legacy and creating your own."

"MS. MAL: On behalf of all "us kids" --- ages 5 to 50 --- that your precious family "SHARES YOU WITH" over the course of a busy performance season, I say: THANK YOU to the wonderful Hood household for their special generosity. Mr. and Master Hood help make it possible for "Ms. Mal and Da' Chop" to delight appreciative audiences from coast to coast. (next)"

"Amen! Getting to see you, Lamb Choppy and Hush Puppy perform and then to actually meet you and LC was one of the highlights of my birthday this year (and thanks to Lamb Chop for singing Happy Birthday to me too, that was a once-in-a-lifetime experience)! Hope to have the pleasure of seeing the "Lamb Chop After Dark" show sometime in the very near future. Thanks again for keeping us all laughing and smiling with good, clean entertainment and fun! "

"I just would like to thank you ever so much for the trip down memory lane. Your mom's show was one of my favorite to watch, as well as my favorite puppet, Lamb Chop. What was even more exciting about your show at the Iowa State Fair is that my children got to watch my favorite puppets too! My daughter loved it so much she was still talking about it a week later! I have enclosed the picture I took that day. Please know how grateful we are for the impact you made on our daughter that day."

"For the lonest time since your mother's death, I have been trying to find where I might be able to contact you and here I am right now! Your mother gave so many of us, many great moments of family joy just sitting around the old television.

I was operated on nine different times, before I reached the 8th grade. And each time that I had come out of the recovery room, I always was entertained by Shari Lewis and her adopted child, "Lampchop" and the recovery time seem to go so much faster for me!

Shari Lewis and Lampchop, is and still will always be remembered by me and so many others like myself who were true fans of the talents of your mother. I am so glad to have heard, that after your mother's sudden passing. That you took over from her, what a wonderful piece of true love and respect towards your mother.

I have enjoyed videos, of both your mother's wonderful talent with children who are in a hospital as well with my own godson, Xander, who enjoys when we sit on the floor to enjoy these videos with some milk and cookies. (His mother hates when I do this, because Xander seems to always not be wanting to eat when a meal is ready.)

Thanks a million and then some, for allowing me and so many others. To share Shari Lewis, with us for so many years.

I am a soon to be 62 year old man, who still loves to watch Shari Lewis and her side-kick, Lambchop with kids that are discovering what I enjoyed when I was so much younger in life.

Keep the spirit of which Shari Lewis, one of my biggest memories (while growing up) so much alive by taking and sharing your love-respect and enjoyment of following in your mother's steps.

God Bless, and please do not stop what seems like one of the greatest family entertainment joys ever! There are no more shows, which a family can just sit down these days and really enjoy!"

Daniel - via Email

"I was a fan of your mother's work and thoroughly enjoyed watching her--and your--kids programs on PBS and video with my own children. I was pleased to learn some years ago that you have continued the truly wonderful family institution that your mother began. I wish and pray that you, your family, and co-workers will have many years of health and prosperity in your much needed work of bringing to education and entertainment what is truly good and beautiful."

"I'm 32 and gave my 3 y/o nephew a lambchop puppet for his bday earlier this year. It's his new best friend and he and his 5 y/o brother argue over who gets to play with her more! The interesting thing is that when they were even younger, they constantly watched Mallory Lewis DVD "Phonics for Babies" - I cannot wait to take them to see Mally and Lambchop perform at the WI State Fair this summer!"

"I came in from the rain wanting to remember a piece of my youth and you were gracious enough to hold two mini shows for us die-hards. I didn't quite know what to expect. You see, I grew up watching your Mom. She entertained me for more years than I can remember. She was so talented, a high energy person who obviously was incredibly kind and warm. As I got older and really understood how hard it is to not move your lips when you perform, I realized that Shari never moved her lips when she said a word with the letter "M" or "B" in it. You don't either.

I was the last bumbling person to arrive for the first show and I planned to stand outside, but you started chatting with me and urged me to take a seat in the back ... which I did.

Your show started and I was transported back in time. I became a kid again. But I want to tell you something. I didn't know much about you, didn't know anything in fact, but when you began the show you were wonderful. You are Lambchop's heart and soul. I didn't notice any difference. While I know your performance is an homage to your Mom, I think you've earned your stripes - your Mom's memory lives inside you.

I think Shari deserves an honorable mention at the beginning of your show but you're your own shining star now. You are a happy surprise. "

Patrick - via Email

"Sedalia is an Indian word which loosely translates as "place of evil winds." Sure hope you've talked to your agent about booking you in such a place! Seriously, hope the nasty storms in my old home town caused you no grief.

My wife and I got such a kick out of seeing you and the puppets. Like many guys of the boomer generation, I remember your mother fondly (and of course had a crush on her!) I imagine it is tough always being compared with her, but I hope you won't mind one comparison; you possess your mother's charm.

Thanks for bringing Lamb Chop (and Hush Puppy!) into the 21st Century! As we were driving back home to Kansas City, we agreed that seeing you was the highlight of our trip to the Fair."

Jay - via Email

"I saw your afternoon performance at the State Fair today (Monday 8/8) and talked briefly after the show. I was the guy in the front row with the blue shirt. I was not expecting to be so moved by your performance and the loving tribute to you mother today. I'm sorry if my emotion upset you in any way - The lyrics and sentiment were overwhelming to me.

I worked with your amazing Mom at North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly, Massachusetts in the late 90's. She was SO very kind to me. She was such a class act. So professional and to this day - the nicest celebrity I've ever worked with. I was just a production assistant / stage manager - but she treated all of us with such amazing respect. I will never forget her kindness. I'm a better stage manager today (and happily successful with 7 Broadway shows behind me) because people like Shari Lewis showed me to "good side" of the business.

I lost my mother and Shari in the same year. In so many ways - the two great ladies are two parts of the same memories in my heart. I miss my Mom today especially. As you know, it's a wound that never goes away - but I'm thankful I got to see you today and remember the wonderful warm memories of sharing some professional time with Shari Lewis and Lamp Chop in the early stages of my career."

Thank you - and thanks for the hug today - It meant more to me that you will probably ever know. "
